Wrapped-wire basket. $14. The Porch Gift and Wine Boutique. 1700 S. Ninth, 314-436-0282.
Katherine Lazar: I could see this basket on an open shelf in a child’s room, maybe holding socks. Because I’m a sensory person, I’d want something inside of it that I use all the time so that I could touch it often.
Carolyn Haimann: This piece is youthful and happy. It could go anywhere: in a kitchen, in a bedroom, in a hallway—anywhere you’d want a touch of fun.

Settee. $350. The Heirloom Room, 2116 Cherokee, 314-772-8000.
Katherine Lazar: This is in really good shape. I would give it to my favorite refinisher and have him bleach it, then stain the wood black. Then I’d have it covered in leather to make it more contemporary but still honor the design.
Carolyn Haimann: It’s traditional and looks to be comfortable, but it needs to be reupholstered. I could see it in a bright-blue velvet or stripe. I’d contrast it with something contemporary to accentuate its pretty lines.

Lamp. $202. The Woman’s Exchange, 8811-A Ladue, 314-997-4411.
Katherine Lazar: I would buy this lamp and give it to my mother, because she has a lot of caramel-colored wood and a pair of these would look incredible in her entry. I might do that!
Carolyn Haimann: It’s a traditional lamp with nice proportions. I could see it on a sun porch with wicker furniture or on an end table—anywhere you need a light source that blends with its surroundings.

La Cornue range. $9,500. B. Davis Designs, 10502 Manchester, 314-822-2221.
Katherine Lazar: Love these stoves! They are the best! I would probably buy it in black and could not wait to roast a chicken in it!
Carolyn Haimann: That’s a beautiful, glamorous range. It will fit in any kitchen décor because it has a strong aesthetic. The stainless steel and brass is timeless. It’s also a really good stove.

Bed. $598. Magnolia Home by Rothman, 1516 S. Hanley, 314-669-9577.
Katherine Lazar: This is really pretty for the price. There’s a hotel in New Orleans called the Henry Howard Hotel that I love—great design!—and its beds are like this.
Carolyn Haimann: That’s a great look for a loft or a high-ceilinged contemporary space. It’s a large mass, so it needs air around it to breathe.
