Ceremony & Reception: Aany and Korey had adored Cherokee Street for years, making the neighborhood’s Heirloom Room the ideal spot for their wedding and reception. One of the bride’s sisters officiated, expressing the love of family, especially Aany’s late father, “who teach us lessons and give boundless love like no one else can.” Embracing the eclectic décor of the place, they added only small details, such as seasonal bouquets from Flowers & Weeds. The fare was also fresh and local, created by Seed Sprout Spoon. Guests, who were invited to bring instruments and sing, provided not only bubbles but also a kazoo choir.
Cupid’s Game: Korey and Aany matched online and began dating in April 2017. By fall, searching for the home they would build together had become easy. Last January, while playing Pandemic: Iberia with friends, they came up short for their objectives in the co-op board game, but the outcome was grander than Aany could have imagined. Korey claimed to have found a “new piece”—then added a ring to the table.
