Ceremony & Reception: Virginia Fister and Bertrand Laidet married at the St. Francis Xavier “College” Church at Saint Louis University—with sun streaming through a rose window inspired by the Chartres Cathedral in Bertrand’s native France. Virginia’s mother and grandmother had walked down the same long aisle. A Jesuit once told the bride’s father that the aisle was like the many years of preparation required to become a Jesuit: “It gives the bride plenty of time to reconsider.”
Newlywed in Norfolk: Virginia is doing curatorial research for the Chrysler Museum of Art while Bertrand, a French naval officer, is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
