Welcome to the first entry in the Secretary of the Interior blog—a venture I undertake with no small degree of trepidation. Myself encapsulated: I am Christy Marshall, the editor of St. Louis Magazine's AT HOME. My professional history includes everything from a stint as an au pair in Scotland and (summer gig) as assistant social director at Tan Tar A to writing jobs for Advertising Age, Adweek, New York Newsday, the St. Louis Sun, St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles and now, St. Louis Magazine and several years at the U.S. Attorney's office dealing with reporters on the trials (and tribulations) there. So, here I am. In cyberspace. We launched AT HOME five years ago this March and all seems to be faring well. In fact, it's been party central for the past few weeks as we feted the winners of the magazine's first annual Architect and Design Awards. First, there was the bash to announce the results at the wonderful Saint Louis Closet Company headquarters (a fabulous old notions factory that Jennifer and Matt Williams had lovingly restored) and then a small cocktail soiree at Plaza Frontenac where the winning entries are hanging for all to see. (Hint, hint.) But, we've packed the party dresses away and it's on to the next (January/February) issue. And it's budget time. And I'm off to discuss dollars and cents. So, ciao, until the next entry.
