Nothing jazzes up a bathroom like really fine fixtures.
Of course, without them? It's a large closet. But with them? You have a place that can near perfection.
For the longest time—125 years to be exact, Hastings Tile & Bath has been importing the MOST gorgeous tiles and bath products. If you have any doubt, just click on the website (www.hastingstilebath.com). Not to say that is all they've done. They installed the walkways around Central Park. But it's the tiles that always captured my heart. Starting about four decades ago, Hastings started importing tiles from Italy. The designers included such names as Arne Jacobsen, Gio Ponti, Andrée Putnam, Phillipe Stack and Matteo Thun have worked their magic on behalf of Hastings. Today more than 200 bath and tile dealers sell Hastings; regrettably there are none in St. Louis. The closest is Chicago at LuxeHome in the Merchandise Mart. Time for a road trip for you and your favorite designer.
Because, to put it ever so gently, Hastings' products are TO DIE FOR!
Not one to rest on anything as mundane as laurels, the company have just taken the oh-so-audacious step of designing and manufacturing its own products.
Late last month, the company unveiled Chelsea H125 faucet. Designed by Bob Gifford, Hastings' own director of bath products, the 125 in the name refers to the company's ripe old age . The faucet goes with Hastings' preexisting Chelsea line, which includes vanity, sink and tub. Note how the curve is so arfully repeated in the faucet and pedestal sink. There is also a single-lever version (not pictured) with the lever in front.
With many, many more years ahead for Hastings, we can safely assume that there will be many more faucets coming with different numerical monikers. We look forward to them all.
Especially because the debut piece is so extremely sleek and so unquestionably snazzy.
