There are so many different ways to incorporate antiques into the comfort of your home whether your style is traditional, eclectic or contemporary. Antiques will always project a sense of background, knowledge, travel and general good taste.
The future articles in my blog entries will give you tips for how you can subtly install them into whatever environment you have.
The first piece that is necessary in a room is some form of a straight-back pull-up chair. A chair can be used in a living room, den, foyer, or anywhere in your home or office.
Why? Fifty percent of the general public has some form of injury and these people are looking for a straight back chair to be comfortable. As we all get older, the first joints that show signs of wear and tear are knees, and by the time we’re in our mid-forties, squishy, comfy club chairs give us trouble getting out of them.
Straight-back chairs are the alternative. They always call to the person who wants to sit for a short period will create a balance between skirted furniture and unskirted furniture.
The pull-up chair is usually balanced with its own side table. It’s an easy seat and it’s comfortable.
You can have it in Chippendale ribbonback, English regency, Napoleonic, it can have a Chinese influence, it can be Italian, it can be Lucite.
Pull-up chairs can have an upholstered seat with an open back, or upholstered back with wood arms. A pull-up chair is always an arm chair.
Pull-up chairs are so versatile, they can be designed in 350-plus different ways!
