Pink Perfection
London Smith's favorite color is pink. Pink. Pink. Pink.

So when her mother, Jennifer, decided to have a blowout for London's 5th birthday, she themed it with her daughter's preferred hue. "I figured this was the last year to have a fun girly party before she goes to kindergarten," Smith wrote in an e-mail. So she invited a dozen little girls and three boys to come to their home in Wildwood for a pink and white fashion party. She instructed them to "dress in your finest pink and white fashions for the show." (The boys opted for white shirts, khaki shorts).
To get ready for the bash, Jennifer Smith took yards and yards of tulle and hung them with ribbons around the patio perimeter. Dad Jason Smith built a runway for the girls to make their walks and
The fare? Pink. White. A polka dot cake from McArthur's Bakery in Kirkwood. Pink punch (pink sherbet and 7UP). Fresh strawberries. Pasta. Strawberry jam sandwiches.
When the guests first arrived, the girls were handed pretty pink ribbons and were led to a table laden with pink beads so they could string bracelets. For the climax of the day--the fashion show--the girls prepared at play stations inside the house, pretending to put on makeup at one, blow dry their hair at another. They accessorized with plastic necklaces, boas, cowboy hats, magic wands--all in pink. And Jason Smith pulled out the karaoke machine and emceed, introducing each baby Kate Moss as they took the runway.
