You’ve made the decision to update your kitchen and you ask yourself “now what do you do?” – here are a few things you can do to get started:
• Take a survey of your space. Note the number and types of cabinets, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, and kitchen equipment.
• Put together a wish list: granite countertops, recessed lighting, an island with seating. Let yourself go. Remember it’s a wish list so have some fun with it.
• Establish a budget. Many homeowners don’t know what it will cost so here is a good rule of thumb: a full replacement kitchen in an existing home can cost 15 to 20 percent of the value of your home.
• Talk to a professional. Kitchen and Bath designers offer consultation services and provide a conceptual design and preliminary material and labor costs free of charge.
