Set a table full of color and creativity. Dream up a sweet little setting that sparks the imagination and satisfies the sweet tooth.
This table setting is perfect for an Easter brunch or to celebrate a sunny spring morning. Include your kids and the fun begins!
My daughter and I made this “feeling tree” centerpiece. Each leaf represents an emotion. The branches are budding with paper leaves, blooms, and butterflies. We simply spray-painted the branch and glued on pretty patterned paper. Potted wheat grass makes a sturdy base. After brunch, we mounted the branch above her bed as a beautiful three-dimensional art piece.
This vibrant place setting couldn’t have been more simple or inexpensive. We cut egg-shaped paper placemats with scalloped scissors for guests to decorate at the table with crayons and egg-shaped chalk. We fashioned nests from Easter grass and added bubble gum and chocolate eggs. Tiny cupcake liners hold colorful jelly beans. Flower-shaped lollipops work as stirrers and when taken off their plastic sticks, they become straws. What’s really wonderful about this table? Nearly everything you see was a Dollar Store find!
I'm excited to share with you how much it cost to purchase and decorate these cheery, striped eggs. I used a coupon for a dozen free eggs from Target and found a five-pack of sprinkles in the dollar bin. So yes, you guessed it, one dollar! Decorating was a cinch... I simply painted on a thin layer of glue with a paintbrush and rolled them in the pastel sugar. I just love how they turned out, don’t you?
Cultivate a tiny carrot garden. We used styrofoam cut to fit the dish, little chocolate-covered eggs nestled in the Easter grass, and these cute carrot lollipops! Take it a step further and add a chocolate bunny or two.
Finally, our pint-sized handbags are filled to the brim and blooming with flower-shaped cookies and candies. The cost averaged around $3 each. I simply adore this sweet basket of yumminess and your little ones will too!
