Personalizing your home decor can be the most fun part of decorating. For me, I like to incorporate our initials and monograms in many different places.
A couple of weeks ago, I discussed how I made my own faux-bois initial print from wrapping paper.
The monograms don't stop there, though. I also have printed out an "S" for our last name and used it in a frame as part of our living room gallery wall.
In the kitchen you can find another "S" hanging out in the midst of the plate wall, too.
Recently, my husband and I found out we are expecting our first child, and while designing his nursery I definitely wanted to incorporate the beginning initial of his first name into the plan.
I had thought about using either this option from Pottery Barn Teen:
Or even this pricier version from Anthropologie:
I'm happy I didn't purchase the above two options because Pinterest has led me to an unbelievably easy and chic "nail and string" monogram project found on this blog.
I will definitely be using this tutorial to make an over-sized initial for our future baby's room; however, the idea could be used in any room of your home to add that special touch!
