If you're feeling crafty and in the mood for a semi-autumn inspired project, then this one's for you! Awhile ago I ran across an image on Etsy that I almost bought of a customizable monogram faux-bois print.
The print definitely inspired me to make my own DIY version. Thanks to this great wrapping paper from The Container Store, the project was incredibly easy.
With this paper as the background, I selected a font I liked in Microsoft Word and then used WordArt to "mirror image" the letters. The reason for this step is to avoid the outlines of the letters showing when you cut them out.
I used a shadow box frame with a linen background to frame my DIY art. I cut the wrapping paper just large enough to allow for an inch perimeter around the 4 sides. I used a glue stick to adhere the letters to the paper and then framed the completed project.
Assuming you have computer paper, scissors, and a form of adhesive on hand, this project should run you less than $10.
