Q. I bought this painting and love it but I have no idea what to hang with it or around it. I want it to be the focal point above my couch so I basically have to redesign my living room wall around this painting. It's 30" x 30". Any ideas?
A. We turned to one of our favorite designers, Amie Corley, of Amie Corley Interiors, to get her opinion. Her response: “That is such a fun painting! I'm loving abstract art right now and the colors in this leave you with lots and lots of options to pull from and use for accessories, lamps and pillows in your living room. At 30 x 30, it is definitely large enough to stand alone above your sofa as long as there are a tall pair of lamps flanking the sofa to add some dimension and so that the painting doesn't just look like it's floating there all by itself. The second option is to make a large gallery wall above the sofa so that this piece of art has someone else to hang out with. I like to hang really disparate pieces of art together. A collected look that's not so perfect and planned always looks best and leaves you room to continue adding over time. Think about adding in photography, sketches, vintage pieces, etc. I love it when the frames don't match, either’ mix in gold, white, brown, and silver frames.”
