Okay, I have a confession to make: I am addicted to coffee. It's an undeniable fact. My day does not kick into gear until a mug of the stuff is in my hand and heading for my lips.
Anyone who knows me well or has been with me before nine knows that I am not a pleasant person without something percolating in a glass pot.
So, the other night when the glass bottom fell out of the carafe for the oh-so-cool programmable Cuisinart maker, I charged off to the nearest Target and grabbed the first pot in the aisle. No way I was going to start the next day without my kick of caffeine.
I bought a Bunn. You may remember this pot from hours spent in pancake houses and coffee houses (eons they became chic and people starting speaking in the grande-, vente-, latte-lingo).
The newer version has a bit more pizazz—and is considerable smaller so it can fit on your kitchen counter.
The initial set up is a bit weird and it takes a little while but follow the directions and do it exactly as they dictate.
I give you this advice because… the next morning after you pour the water into the vent at the top, you will have a carafe of coffee faster than you can say "Put on the pot." It's almost instant. And, best of all, it's really a good brew.
The maker certainly isn't nearly as expensive as the other fancier brands and it's Indy 500 fast.
