With Christmas less than a week away I thought it the perfect time to share some of my favorite decorating spots around our home. First, while I love the traditional and homey feel of red and green, I much prefer to deck our halls with white, silver, gold, and pink—it's perfectly girly, and my husband willingly obliges.
The design element I like the most is our white Christmas tree. It lights up our room and adds a bit of whimsy to the rest of the Christmas decor.
I trim the tree with big silver and pink globes along with other shiny ornaments, too. Recently I made some DIY Tie Dye ornaments (thanks to this tutorial) to add to the mix.
All you need is:
1. Glass globes (I purchased mine from Michael's)
2. Acrylic paint
Simply add the paint into the globes and swirl around until the entire globe is covered. The color combinations are endless and the end result is quite lovely and chic.
Our entryway table is adorned with light-up silver glitter trees and leopard and sequin stockings from Target and Dollar Tree, respectively.
A great way to add a bit of custom DIY decor to your space is by making a garland wreath.
This DIY project was all the rage last year and is easy to make.
You'll need:
1. Wreath form
2. Large strand of garland
Simply wind the garland around the wreath until the whole thing is covered and then you are done. If desired, you can add felt flowers (great tutorial found here) to the mix by hot gluing them. This project is simple, inexpensive, and, most importantly, custom made by you!
Hopefully you'll add a bit of DIY to your Christmas décor this year. Happy Holidays!
