Hi everyone! I'm Joi Svezia from Nuestra Vida Dulce, and I am so excited to be a contributor to Secretary of the Interior. I'll be posting twice a month and I look forward to sharing my Craigslist finds and décor ideas with all of you.
I'm a home décor enthusiast who earns a living as a high school Spanish teacher in Highland, Ill. My husband David and I spend our free time scoping out deals at all of my favorite thrift stores, antique shops, and flea markets. I love making our home come alive with my fun finds and DIY adventures, and I get quite the excitement documenting our trials and triumphs via my blog.
In the past few months I've had the time of my life being featured on numerous decor websites and television shows. I was fortunate enough to be invited to be a guest on The Nate Berkus Show and I also have made reoccurring guest appearances on KMOV's Great Day St. Louis. Since winning St. Louis Magazine's Living Space of the Year, our home has also been featured in an Apartment Therapy Tour and in the current issue of St. Louis AT HOME.
This Monday I'm bringing you my top five picks from St. Louis' Craigslist! Here they are:
1. $250 Bamboo Table + {4} Chairs
This table and chairs have been on my radar for quite sometime. Bamboo is such a popular accent in home decor these days, and you would be hard-pressed to find one chair for this price, let alone four chairs and a table. This is quite the steal!
This piece would be a great choice instead of a typical coffee table or ottoman. The price cannot be beat!
3. $50 Pair of High Back Chairs
The upholstery appears to be in great shape and the lines are unique! I love the gold fabric, but if it's not your cup of tea, reupholstering is always an option.
Another great piece with classic lines and tufting detailing.
Like the bamboo chairs above, I've had my eye on this posting for quite sometime. The price is unbelievable and the brass detailing gives it that extra pizazz.
