The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary Christmas Boutique | November 11 & 12
On Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Kirkwood Community Center (111 S. Geyer), the Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas Boutique. Start your shopping early, get a tasty lunch from the Patrick’s Spuds food truck, try homemade desserts, and thank a veteran.
Cottleville Purple Heart City Veterans Celebration | November 13
The city of Cottleville is designated as a Purple Heart City, meant to honor military members who have earned a Purple Heart, awarded to those injured or killed while serving. On Sunday, the city will host its inaugural Purple Heart City Veteran’s Celebration from 5–8 p.m. at the Public School House (5546 Chestnut).
Free Veteran’s Day Sound Bath with Hands On Reiki | November 11
Healing sound vibrations and gentle therapeutic touch sound like an appealing way to honor one’s service, and Crystal Bath Company is offering a free session for veterans on Friday at 6 p.m. Bring warm socks, a yoga mat, pillows, and blankets. Veteran’s Day Haircuts | November 11
Salon Shenanigans and Gateway Harley Davidson are offering free haircuts for veterans on Friday from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. The cuts are free, but tips for the stylists are welcome.
Veteran’s Day Fun Run | November 12
The emphasis is way more on fun than run at this event at Four Brothers Mead in Festus. On Saturday at noon, jog down Main Street led by the crew of veterans who own Four Brothers Mead. The run will be less than a mile, and it starts and ends at the Four Brothers Tasting Room, with music and veteran-owned Kater Me BBW.
Free National Parks Entry | November 11
National parks nationwide are offering free admission to all on Veterans Day to honor the service of our military. Stick close to home by visiting the Gateway Arch National Park, or venture far and wide.
