British "it girl," television presenter, fashion editor, model, and style icon Alexa Chung has just released her first capsule collection for AG Jeans. The new collection, simply named Alexa Chung For AG, has just been unveiled at the Central West End AG Jeans location (36 Maryland Plaza, 314-361-6161).
"It's a new and exciting collaboration that has done well and has been well-received in St. Louis," explains store manager, Dan Jung.
The 20-piece collection marries Chung's edgy and cool sensibility with a fresh and easy take on basic separates. From vintage-inspired pieces to mod and modern looks, the line includes everything from overalls and dresses to T-shirts and jeans, with prices ranging from $70 to $300.
This is the first time Chung has designed a collection, and it was on a visit to the AG Jeans offices and factory in LA that she was inspired to collaborate with them. "I liked the fact that it is a family business and that they are experts on denim technology," she explained in a press release. "I found it incredibly inspiring and an opportunity to learn about denim and make things I had been dreaming about finding. The collection is inherently the missing pieces of my dream denim wardrobe, which as ever, is predominantly inspired by a late '60s, early '70s thing."
Chung is a constant on best-dressed lists internationally and is forever being watched for her latest sartorial evolution. Through her blog and her position as contributing editor at British Vogue, her voice is one that is not only well respected in the fashion world but is also a reflection of what Millenials consider of-the-moment, pertinent, and on the cutting edge of popular culture.
This is not the first celebrity collaboration for AG Jeans, which includes successful partnerships with celebrity stylist Cheryl Coulter, men's golf label Travis Mathew, and textile studio Liberty of London.
