Logboat Brewing | 504 Fay
- In a Nutshell: The sprawling outdoor space, dubbed The Logboat Park, is ideal for families and pet owners, with visitors often playing bocce, washers, or Frisbee. And the brewery is expanding, with more fermentation space.
- Drink: Logboat Snapper is a perennial favorite. Or check out the Bennie Mocha Stout, an oak aged chocolate coffee stout that rivals any dessert. To pay tribute to legendary Mizzou coach Norm Stuart, Logboat president Tyler Frazee and team created the Stormin’ Norman golden ale, with a portion of proceeds donated to Missouri basketball programs. And rotating offerings abound, so consider a beer flight.
- Eat: Ozark Mountain Biscuit Company serves up homemade biscuit sandwiches.
Flatbranch Pub and Brewing | 115 S. 5th
- In a Nutshell: Software developer Tom Smith opened the city's first brewpub nearly 30 years ago, in 1994. It's since become a tradition for many Mizzou alums to stop in for a brew before or after games.
- Drink: Consider the Classic Brown Ale (featuring a nutty flavor balanced by a local pilsner malt and five specialty malts) or the Citra American Pale Lager (with citra hops and a German lager yeast). Want something with kick? Try the Green Chile Ale.
- Eat: Start with the World Famous Chokes ‘n Cheese, and consider the crab cakes or the catfish and chips.
Broadway Brewery | 816 E. Broadway
- In a Nutshell: Another brewery mainstay in Columbia, Broadway Brewery is situated in the heart of downtown Columbia, a short walk from Mizzou's campus.
- Drink: A rotating menu favors IPAs, with several interpretations of the India Pale Ale. Success for Breakfast, a New England–style hazy IPA is a popular pick. Old Pal Pilsner and Glitter Cats Sour are also standouts. And Broadway Brewery is one of the area's only breweries to feature a Japanese Rice Lager, Dashi, for those who enjoy lighter beers.
- Eat: Don’t miss the trout hushpuppies and the wagyu burger.
Bur Oak Brewing Company | 8250 Trade Center
- In a Nutshell: While the taproom might be off the beaten path, just east of Columbia, the beer is widely known, with distribution across the area.
- Drink: There are the staples (Big Tree DIPA, Lily Ale, Boone County Brown), as well as a range of seasonal offerings (Hoppen-Daz Raspberry, Stout Heart, Tractor Fire Brown Ale, to name a few.)
- Eat: The brewery offers a Columbia classic—Shakespeare's Pizza—as well as brats, burgers, snacks, and sweet treats.
Waves Cider Co. | 604 Nebraska
- In a Nutshell: Located just south of I-70, between Providence and College, the craft cidery offers a gluten-free options, though it's worth a visit no matter your dietary inclinations. Note: At press time, the cidery is only open on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- Drink: Choose from cider-based cocktails, seasonal selections, and dry and semi-dry ciders.
- Eat: The cidery doesn't offer food, so consider stopping in between meals.
