October 9 & 10 | Victoria Price Events
Victoria Price, Vincent and Mary Price’s daughter, visits St. Louis in celebration of the 50th anniversary of her parents’ best-selling cookbook, A Treasury of Great Recipes. On Friday at 7 p.m., she stops at Blueberry Hill to sign copies of A Treasury of Great Recipes. Then, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Hi-Pointe Theatre screens her father’s famous film House on Haunted Hill, followed by a Q&A with Victoria. Finally, on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m., Tenacious Eats hosts a five-course Price-themed dinner—featuring recipes from the cookbook—and a showing of Theatre of Blood at STL Banquet Center with (who else?) October 9–11 | St. Louis Classic Black Film Festival
This festival shines a light on the contributions of classic African-American actresses. Over three days, the Missouri History Museum hosts eight classic films, including Foxy Brown, Imitation of Life, and Jackie Robinson Story. Free for AARP members, $5 general admission.
