May 27–29 | Art Outside
Art Outside is shifting its calendar: no longer will it happen the same weekend as the St. Louis Art Festival. But it’s sticking with its original mission statement to feature affordable art from artists who reside within 100 miles of St. Louis. Free. Schlafly Bottleworks, 7260 Southwest.
May 28–30 | Saint Louis African Arts Festival
The St. Louis African Arts Festival has been bringing dance, music, textiles, jewelry, clothing, oils, authentic African foods, kids’ activities, and more to the World’s Fair Pavilion for more than 20 years. There are even extra activities next door at the Saint Louis Zoo each day. Free. World's Fair Pavilion, Forest Park.
May 28–June 5 | St. Louis Renaissance Faire Preview Weekend
Now in its 18th season, Wentzville's Ren Faire is set in a 16th-century French village dubbed Petit Lyon. If you've been wanting to do a little bit of faux time-traveling but aren't sure you're ready for the full Ren Faire plunge, this free preview weekend is a scaled-down version that features jousting, food, live performances, and artisan booths. Free. Rotary Park, Wentzville
May 30 | Gypsy Caravan
Those resisting the call of KonMari already have the Gypsy Caravan marked on the calendar—it’s the biggest vintage and antique market in the Midwest. Even better, the money raised goes to benefit the St. Louis Symphony. $10–$20. The Family Arena, St. Charles.
