April 21–May 1 | Bosnian/American: The Dance for Life
St. Louis-based playwright Deanna Jent, whose powerful play Falling looked at the impact of autism on families, closes out Mustard Seed Theatre's season with this world premiere. The result of many hours of tireless interviews, Jent's play draws from the memories of young Bosnians who came to St. Louis during the war in the Balkans. It weaves their stories around a fable-like story by Ivo Andric. $25–$30. 8 p.m. Thu–Sat, 2 p.m. Sun. Fontbonne University Fine Arts Theatre, 6800 Wydown.
April 22 | Andrew Bird
Known for his witty songwriting and virtuoso violin playing, Bird tours on his latest record, Are You Serious. It's his rawest release emotionally, but also his tightest, most finely tuned musically. $33, $36 day of show. 8 p.m. The Pageant, 6161 Delmar.
