May 14 | Vetiver
The band known as Vetiver is actually the solo project of Bay Area musician Andy Cabic, who's collaborated with a wide spectrum of musicians, including Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. As Pitchfork observed, the band has "successfully eschewed contemporary gloss in favor of following weird, primeval whims," but "their neo-psych musings are always tender and accessible, as quirky and warm as a well-worn Nick Drake tape." $15. 8 p.m. Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp.

And at the end of the ride, enjoy strawberry shortcake at the 32nd annual St. Jacob Strawberry Festival. $11–$30. 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m. St. Jacob Township Park, St. Jacob, Illinois.
