Tory Burch
Tory Burch Lip Color in Ramble On Rose
The beauty scene at New York Fashion Week may as well have been a compilation of my favorite beauty trends: cobalt, braids, and makeup-free models. From Reed Krakoff to Tory Burch, here are my favorite looks of New York Fashion Week and the products you need to replicate them at home.
Badgley Mischka’s Pastel Hair & Eyebrows
Pastels are picking up the punch this season. Taking the trend to new heights, Badgley Mischka embraced pastel hues with hints of purple and pink locks strewn throughout models' hair. But the statement was all in the brows—purple brows took center stage and so can yours. Simply apply pastel eyeshadow of your choosing using an eyeshadow brush to your natural brow line. Apply sparingly at first and build up the color until you have perfectly pastel brows.
Reed Krakoff’s Cobalt Eyes and Ties
Maybe I’m completely biased, but cobalt is one of my favorite colors, making Reed Krakoff’s look my favorite look of NYFW. Bright cobalt nails and delicate hair ties in the same hue were nothing if not attention-grabbers. Give your nails a little edge and check out Essie’s "Butler Please" cobalt variation. As far as the blue leather hair ties go, check out Etsy.com for a hair tie as unique as its color.
Tory Burch’s Rosy Cheeks and Lips
Who doesn’t look good with rosy cheeks and lips? That’s my philosophy when it comes to the timeless appeal of classic makeup. Tory Burch ditched the trends and opted for a classical, romantic look with soft, feminine, subtle makeup. To achieve Tory’s beautiful daytime look, use her eponymous Bronzer & Blush in Divine and Lip Color in Ramble On Rose.
Derek Lam’s Violet Eyes
Bobbi Brown first introduced my generation to violet eyes, catapulting the trend into the mainstream during the late '90s. Violet eyes were back with a vengeance at Derek Lam. Although makeup artist Tom Pecheux may have used lipstick to create his purple lids, try e.l.f.’s Essential Flawless eyeshadow in purple. The four ascending shades allow you to build the look you want, without looking like you just got in a fight with your punching bag.
