Fashion coverage has reached an all-time high thanks to the expansive growth of fashion bloggers. St. Louis native Tyler Mackie appreciated the power and innovation present in fashion bloggers and felt they should be recognized and compensated for their work. Through ModaVoche, Mackie’s inventive online retail site, fashion bloggers have the chance to showcase their styled looks and make a profit from the presented pieces that sell.
Since its launch on July 10, Mackie says the website already has 18 bloggers participating and will only continue to draw more attention. Worldwide blogging is the ultimate goal. Mackie explains, “As we grow, we can showcase a blogger from Berlin and also one from San Francisco and make it clear where they’re coming from, giving readers insight to style around the world.”
Every week, each blogger styles an outfit with links to the pieces for purchase and compete for “Top Look.” The blogger who accumulates the highest number of user votes and items sold claims the title of “Top Look” as well as a percentage of the funds made.
Mackie explains, “Retailers are looking for a way to market and advertise and sell. The fashion bloggers themselves are making money from a platform that will grow and encompass a lot more brands, and from that standpoint everyone wins.”
Mackie and his co-founder, Chris Hayes, continue to update and enhance the site to improve the experience for users and bloggers. With Mackie’s strong pension for fashion, he hopes to add improvements, such as including menswear, to keep ModaVoche engaging to a wide audience.
