PickledPosh Boutique
On August 18, Sue Eastwood and her daughters Jennifer Day and Stephanie Geiger launched PickledPosh Boutique, a new online retail venture based out of St. Louis. To the new endeavor, the three owners bring experience in business, fashion, and sales.
“The idea came from my mom asking us for advice on what to wear, like what shirt goes with these pants and vice versa,” Day says, noting that the trio had “always” thought about starting a business together.
PickledPosh carries women’s tops, skirts, and dresses in sizes small through 3XL.
Day says their goal is to help women of all ages and sizes to find comfortable, flattering clothes. That’s also one reason why PickledPosh offers a free personal shopping service. If a customer sends in a full-length photo and details about sizes and styles, the mother-daughter team will suggest pieces from the shop. Customers also are encouraged to send in their questions about how to style different PickledPosh pieces.
“We are asking people to send us their selfies,” Day says. “We will recommend clothes out of our shop that they might feel comfortable wearing.”
In the future, Eastwood, Day, and Geiger hope to carry accessories, handbags, leggings, and other items that are easy to buy online. But for now, Day says, they are trying to find their niche in women’s clothing.
The three owners began working on the site’s launch in February. Day calls how they chose the boutique’s name “a funny story.”
“All the [names] we came up with were taken. So I said we needed to come up with something silly. PickledPosh stuck.”
