For more than a decade, the Open Highway Music Festival has drawn crowds for a jam-packed concert lineup. This year, the event is returning to Chesterfield from June 16–17 with some major updates.
A significant investment from the Regional Arts Commission will allow the festival to “grow to something spectacular,” according to RAC. Open Highway will also add some star power this year, welcoming Jason Isbell as its 2023 headliner. Open Highway will act as the first stop on Isbell’s nationwide tour.
“We have our biggest and best lineup that we’ve ever had...We’re an independent music festival, so everything we have comes from the people that support us,” says festival founder John Henry. “We’re very grateful.”
As in past years, the event will feature a mix of local and national talent. Returning guests can also expect to see more of their favorite local joints represented this year.
“We’re going to have an expanded footprint of food, drink, and experiences,” Henry says. “We’re using as many local businesses, restaurants, and breweries as we can.”
