Vintage Bliss
We often fantasize about a bright summer day, strumming through precious pieces of jewelry and clothing while live music fills our ears and fresh eateries fill our stomach. This dream-like scenario becomes a reality this weekend on June 21 and 22 at the Vintage Bliss Market in Westport Plaza. The event boasts 60 booths of vendors showcasing vintage finds, from re-purposed furniture and special home accessories to handcrafted jewelry and resale fashion. The extensive amount of merchandise is just one aspect of the market, as the event will also offer live entertainment, complimentary workshops, and small bites available for purchase.
Emily Lewis, senior marketing coordinator for Westport Plaza, took inspiration from a similar market in Arizona and recruited the vendors to join her in establishing St. Louis’s first Vintage Bliss Market. As a result, the numerous artists at the venue reflect special talent individually selected by Lewis. A trip to this market provides an opportunity to purchase undiscovered treasures unique to your closet.
A '60s-inspired floral dress from vendor, Beqi, is sure to stand out and impress your friends at the next luncheon. If you’re in dire need of last-minute birthday gifts, Lateef accessories are a combination of exotic and dainty. A simple, gold-wire ring and a pair of knotted bronze stud earrings are so subtly gorgeous you may have to ditch the idea of presents and splurge on yourself. Artist Shayba Muhammad will even be taking custom orders to personalize some of her pieces. With a wide variety of products at every booth, you are sure to stumble across something suited for your home or personal style. Entry to the market is free.
