It’s not every day that we’d advise you to read the New York Post, but a recent story about New York Fashion Week caught our eye.
The headline: “Fashion Week’s Most Fabulous Are From St. Louis.”
Fabulous? St. Louis? Really?
Really.
Just hours before the fashion world’s elite stepped into Alexander Wang’s show, they gathered on Madison Avenue to meet two native St. Louisans, supermodel Karlie Kloss and fashion writer Derek Blasberg, at a signing for Blasberg’s new book, Harper’s Bazaar: Models.
“We are both from St. Louis, so we have a club, the Missouri Mafia,” Blasberg tells the Post. “It’s me, Karlie and Andy Cohen. St. Louis is slowly taking over.”
All three cultural mainstays attended St. Louis-area high schools: Blasberg graduated from Affton High School. Kloss went to Webster Groves High School, and Cohen graduated from Clayton High School.
