Now that you have all of your upcoming Wednesdays X'd out for the Whitaker Music Series at the Missouri Botanical Garden, the weekend of the Fourth cleared for Fair St. Louis, and...well... as we pointed out recently, you really can see a free summer concert every day of the week...get ready to do some further schedule reshuffling. The City of Chesterfield just announced it'll be hosting not one, but two free music series this summer:
Art & Orchestra Music Series
St. Louis Civic Orchestra | May 19
This Chesterfield-based orchestra is made up of 75 professional and amateur musicians.
Bach to the Future | May 26
Composer Michael Silverman leads this fusion band, which takes a modern approach to classical composers like Bach and Beethoven, infusing it with jazz and Latin rhythms and performing their scores with electronic instruments like the keytar, zendrum and the voilectra.
Genesis Jazz Project | June 9
This 20-member band performs the music of classic jazz artists as well as contemporary composers.
South City Troubadors | June 23
Southside musicians perform classic honky-tonk music.
