Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas - Caught Up
Jessica Hernandez is the first generation American daughter of a Mexican mother and Cuban father, and the Deltas are her band. Together, they create a high-energy rock group from Detroit with music partially inspired by Hernandez’ own heritage, and influenced by Motown, retro 60’s girl group pop and reggae. The band released its debut full-length album, Secret Evil, in 2014, an interesting combination of dark and emotional yet upbeat songs. The album, which will likely be the focus of the band’s LouFest set, chronicles Hernandez’s personal trials with carefully crafted story-telling lyrics.
Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas perform Saturday, September 12 at 4 p.m. For more information, visit loufest.com.
