Kirkwood boutique Fun in the Sun Sports & Leisure will be expanding with a second location opening at the end of this week in Chesterfield.
The new location at 1654 Clarkson Road is about the same size as the Kirkwood location (121 N. Kirkwood, 314-821-0583), which opened in 2012, and will carry the same preppy and athletic brands, including Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Johnnie-O, The Southern Shirt Company, and more.
"We had a hunch when we opened our Kirkwood location that we were not alone in wanting some of these brands," says owner Nancy McGee. "There's been momentum towards a preppy Southern style, especially locally with Mizzou joining the SEC, and we struck a chord at the right time. We cannot keep inventory in stock, and we had a lot of customers coming to us from West County, so a second location there made sense."
McGee says that the Chesterfield store will have a soft opening at the end of this week and then will host a grand opening celebration the weekend of October 17 through the 19, featuring special giveaways, promotions, and refreshments.
After opening this location, McGee says that she is opening to expand the business with e-commerce offerings.
