Just Female Blouse
Although bright florals are most often associated with all things spring, their darker counterparts are quickly becoming fall favorites. Collections teeming with flowers were abloom on this season’s runways, and nowhere were they more rampant than at Honor, where midnight black backgrounds set off bouquets of printed vibrant blooms. Our favorite ensemble (see above) was a beautifully cut, slightly cropped silk boat-neck top, shown with a dramatic floor-length pleated skirt.
When donning a look for everyday wear, one garment or accessory is usually enough. The beauty in this trend is that with a keen eye, any number of vintage pieces can be scored at reasonable prices, both online and in resale boutiques. The local ready-to-wear retail scene also offers an array of options, and at Blush Boutique (110 N Clay, 314-965-4411) we found a fabulous one. We love the versatility of Just Female’s black and white floral print blouse ($138). With a crisp collar and structured silhouette, the shirt is a perfect piece to transition the dark floral trend from the runway to the office. Paired with a leather jacket and stilettos, there’s no doubt the trendy top could carry you all the way to cocktail hour.
