St. Patrick’s Day Parade | March 11
Drawing crowds of approximately 250,000, the downtown parade includes marching bands, balloons, clowns, floats, and more. There’s plenty of programming beyond the parade, too. The night before, check out the “Meet the Irish” dinner at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, with cocktails, dinner, a presentation of the parade dignitaries, and, of course, dancing. And on Saturday morning, kick up your own heels at 9 a.m. for a five-mile run through downtown. Parade starts at noon at 20th and Market streets.
St. Patrick’s Day in Dogtown | March 17
Dogtown goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day. St. James the Greater has a special mass on Thursday at 4 p.m. in honor of St. Patrick. The Ancient Order of Hibernians run the parade, which steps off at 11 a.m., and neighborhood association Dogtown United hosts an all-day Irish festival.
Pat’s | March 11 & 17
Speaking of Dogtown, the Pat Connolly Tavern celebrates adjacent to both of the city’s biggest parades. Visit on March 11 after the downtown parade for live Irish music from noon–10 p.m. Then, on March 17, enjoy breakfast starting at 6 a.m., and stake out a spot at one of the four outdoor bars with great views of the parade route, in addition to live music all day. St. Patrick’s Day Parade in St. Charles | March 17
Can’t get enough green-tinged promenading? Head to St. Charles for its second annual parade, also by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. It starts at the Lewis and Clark Boat House (1050 S. Riverside) and moves down historic Main Street. Parade starts at 4 p.m.
St. Patrick’s Day Party at Ballpark Village | March 17
Ballpark Village will serve up green beer, all-inclusive drink packages, live music, and more. Dirty Muggs keep the dance floor packed. BPV will also have a Blues/Capitals game watch party, so save a little energy for that. Doors open at 5 p.m., game starts at 6, with the party going until midnight. Ballpark Village, 601 Clark.
Armory STL St. Patrick’s Day Celebration | March 17
If you haven’t made your way to the cavernous “biggest bar in STL,” full of all kinds of entertainment, St. Patrick's Day is a great time to check it out. On Thursday and Friday, the venue opens early, at 11 a.m. On March 17, there will be drink specials, contests, raffles and more. A portion of Friday’s proceeds benefit St. Patrick Center, which provides services for unhoused people. Armory STL, 3660 Market.
