The Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Gardens has become a Labor Day tradition in St. Louis. Started in 1977, it's one of the longest-running fests of its type in the country, and is organized with assistance of several Japanese-American groups, who bring all sorts of cultural treasures, including food and performing arts, to the Garden's grounds.
SLM was on hand to film the festivities, from sumo wrestling to dance to the floating paper lanterns that lit up the water after dark.
