Starting Monday, The Foundrie (265 Chesterfield Mall, 636-730-4130) will be holding its first Warehouse Sale and Clearance Event. The sale, which will take place March 17–23 in the shop’s event space, will include discontinued handmade goods, vintage clothing and accessories, and display items at a discount of up to 70 percent.
“We’ve been in this location for almost two years, and we’ve collected things we are no longer using,” says co-owner Shelah McClymont. “We will also be clearing space for new merchandise.”
The Foundrie, an independent boutique that sells handmade and vintage items, currently carries the work of more than 100 artists. New vendors are added each quarter.
During the sale, The Foundrie also will be offering Mystery Grab Bags for $5. McClymont estimates that each bag contains $16 to $40 worth of handmade items, including jewelry, accessories, and stationery.
“This is really the only chance throughout the year to get our items at a discount,” McClymont explains, noting that she hopes the sale will become an annual event. “It’s difficult for us to have sales because our items are on consignment.”
Although The Foundrie is usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, it will be open every day of the warehouse sale.
In January, The Foundrie also started offering a free craft night once a month. The next event will be Friday, March 28, when attendees can learn how to make keychains and earrings out of leather remnants. Space is limited. Those interested in attending should RSVP by emailing thefoundrie@gmail.com or through The Foundrie’s Facebook event page.
