Great Britian's suffering far more than the United States in this global economic downtown (as are those riot-plauged Eastern Bloc countries). Still, U.K. paper The Independent reports that certain sectors of the arts economy in Great Britain are not just surviving, but experiencing growth. And if that's the case, there is reason to believe the U.S. art sector can flourish as well, despite the fact that Linens 'n' Things is filing for bankruptcy.
Still, that's no excuse for arts administrators to party like they're hedge fund managers in 2005.
