Streetballersposter
Even if you haven't been following the posts of our Wednesday guest bloggers - Matt Krentz, Craig Thomas and Patrick Rooney, the guys behind Streetballers -- you've probably seen or heard about the film, which opened at the Tivoli and Ronnie's 20 Cine and has had some heavy buzz. The film, which was completely independently distributed, had a high enough per-screen average to catch the national distributors' attention .... So they're off to Los Angeles, where the movie will open at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on September 25. The guys note that, "this is the theater chain that premiered The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Star Wars" -- not bad comany to be in, all things told! If you want to get a vicarious taste of what it's like for local filmmakers to open a film in one of the most legendary theaters in Hollywood, I suggest you tune into their Twitter page, where they'll be posting up-to-the-minute updates. --Stefene Russell
