An update from the Streetballers guys:
"...exciting things happening out here in LA, including a star-studded red carpet set for this Friday as Josh Powell of the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers will officially present the Los Angeles Red Carpet Premiere of Streetballers on Friday, Sept. 25th at 7:20 at the Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood!" See video footage of said endorsement here.
We have a new dance company in town, Missouri Ballet Theatre; they're presenting their inagural performance, New Beginnings, at The Robert’s Orpheum Theater on October 16 & 17:
"New Beginnings is a feast of movement, color, music and innovation, offering something for not only the traditional classical ballet lover and the contemporary dance connoisseur, but for all dance lovers.
The performances will feature the sensual pas de deux 'Hoop'; along with 'Forte,' the all-male ballet filled with high-flying virtuosity, choreographed by Artistic Director Adam Sage; 'Porteno Fantastico' a sizzling hot tango by Ballet Master Robert Philander; Artist in Residence Jennifer Medina’s twist on contemporary ballet 'Groove Boxes;' and company member Katie Howland’s award winning 'Metamorphosis.' The company is comprised of professional dancers who hail from as far east as Connecticut and west as California, all of them choosing to make St. Louis their home."
More exciting stuff, to be sure. For more information, go to MBT's website, missouriballettheater.com. --Stefene Russell
