This morning, the Saint Louis Art Museum announced that the groundbreaking for its $125 million expansion, originally intended for late 2008, has been postponed. "The Board," a release states, "acted in response to current market conditions." John D. Weil, president of the Board of Commissioners, had this to say: “We will set a date for our groundbreaking once the market stabilizes.” So how much of that $125 million has the museum raised? Campaign commitments total more than $120 million so far.
