Just when I thought last night’s episode of Resale Royalty couldn’t possibly top last week’s gorgeous closets and designer-clad suppliers, I was happily proven wrong. Resale Royalty gave us everything from Susan Barrett’s home-turned-closet to an exclusive preview of an Alexander McQueen exhibit I can hardly wait to see this fall.
Molly might have overpriced some of supplier’s Elizabeth’s designer goods, including some fierce Fendi shoes and Miu Miu’s that resembled art more than footwear, but it’s reassuring to know that those kinds of designer merchandise can resell in St. Louis, isn’t it?
This week’s eye candy was, hands down, the Alexander McQueen exhibit. From a dress with hand-cut leather to a gown worn by Cate Blanchett on the red carpet, I’m surprised Sue and Co. were able to leave in one piece. In case you didn’t catch the episode last night, be sure to check out the exhibit this fall at the World Chess Hall of Fame (Click here for a behind-the-scenes gallery of the exhibit.). No fashion-lover should miss it!
When the women of WCE weren’t reselling like crazy and touring Susan Barrett’s museum-worthy closet of designer duds that included Maria Kantranzou and Burberry fit for royalty, there was the unavoidable drama. When Laura wanted to throw an event at The Collective downtown and recruited model and salesgirl Meghan, her idea ended up working out better in theory rather than reality. Showcasing high-low pieces on beautiful local models and free wine? Great idea, but without Diana’s event-planning expertise, let’s just say guests were more than fashionably late to the event.
If next week’s episode of Hermes scarves and mag interviews can live up to the drama and designers of this week’s, it will definitely be worth the watch.
