Love scouring the racks for great resale-shop finds? Then The Shopping Co. (11567 Gravois Road, 314-537-0963) has a day out planned for you. The organization will hold its Cinco de Mayo Resale Bus Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.
For $49 per person, the excursion includes a guided tour of six or seven resale boutiques in the St. Louis area, such as Back on the Rack and the Resale Shop. Shoppers will receive a discount of 20 percent at each stop. Along the way, the group will enjoy a boxed lunch and additional treats and prizes, such as awards for finding the best buy or cutest designer item.
“People have been coming in [for the bus tour] from further away,” said Diana Ford, owner and founder of The Shopping Co. “The last time we did this, there were 14 women who came from the St. Joseph/Kansas City area.”
Many individuals have joined previous tours to learn about where to find the best stores in St. Louis. Others sign up as a group for a girls’ day event, said Ford.
Ford, who also helps run the Women’s Closet Exchange, gained experience planning incentive trips to all seven continents while working at Maritz. She started The Shopping Co. eight years ago and now leads shopping trips to locations like New York, Chicago, and Scottsdale, Ariz.
If you can’t make it on May 4, The Shopping Co. has resale bus tours planned for June 8 and July 13 as well. In addition, plans are being made for neighborhood boutique crawls in St. Louis and a weekend shopping trip during New York Fashion Week this fall.
