Last month, the Post reported that the Osage Nation was working to acquire Sugar Loaf Mound, pretty much the last surviving Indian Mound within the city of St. Louis. I haven't been able to find a news story that confirms this (though once I find one, I shall post it) but a news flash email from the Landmarks Commission seems to affirm that the tribe has, in fact, purchased the property in order to develop it into an interpretive site. More info as I get it. --Stefene Russell
