Last March, music critic Steve Pick wrote a profile of Jason Rerun and Matt Harnish, the forces behind BDR Records (you can see little traces of their earlier projects, Bert Dax Calvacade of Stars, and Rerun Records, in that acronym there) though at the time, the two hadn't really named their label. BDR's mission is to preserve and release St. Louis punk, new wave, power pop and post-punk from the 1970s and '80s, and one of their most highly anticipated projects has now hit the streets: an album by Raymilland, a postpunk band that played all of eight shows, and would have opened for Joy Division in Chicago had Ian Curtis not committed suicide. "Raymilland '78-'81" is now available at fine record stores everywhere, including Vintage Vinyl, Euclid Records and Apop, or through the lads at BDR. You can also sample some of the tracks via a zip file on their site.--Stefene Russell
