Steve Pick, longtime STL music critic and frequent contributor to our Culture section, also blogs at Euclid Record's Lockwood and Summit. Earlier this week, L&S's "Local Spotlight" focused on Judge Nothing, one of the mainstays of St. Louis' famous "Cicero's scene," of the early 90s. For this month's issue (March) Steve reached back even farther into the history of St. Louis' New Wave/underground music scene, writing about Matt Harnish and Jason Rerun's efforts to rerelease work by Raymilland (who were scheduled to open for Joy Division in Chicago, but didn't due to Ian Curtis' suicide) and local all-teenage-girl punk band, The Welders; both bands formed in the late 70s and early 80s. Only thing that makes me sad is that, unlike a blog, I can't link up MP3 files to Steve's article in the mag, but it will tell you how to track down your very own copy of said reissues. --Stefene Russell
