On Thursday, August 16, Byrd Style Lounge (8117 Maryland Ave., 314-721-0766) will hold the second meeting of its new Social Club. The club’s monthly events are described as exclusive shopping experiences “where couture and cocktails collide.” In addition to access to the boutique’s newest inventory, the Social Club gives those in attendance the chance to meet a different special guest each month, while sampling complimentary hors d’oeuvres and sipping beverages from around the world.
The August 16 event will feature Robert Govero for Hair, an independently owned and operated salon in downtown Clayton. Experts will be on hand to give tips on how to do styles such as simple updos and to discuss creative new trends and hair care products. Guests will also get a sneak peek at Byrd’s new fall looks, as well as have the chance to sample Charonge Wine, a California white wine with natural orange flavor that is not yet available in St. Louis. Music will be provided by Charlie Cerpa and band, and Byrd’s resident “Head Ham” and pet pig, Chloe, will be making the rounds to mingle with guests.
“We wanted to bring together local businesses to create a unique shopping experience that anyone can come to,” says Lauren Dreyer, Byrd’s marketing director. “We’re among the first to introduce Charonge Wine to the St. Louis area, and we’ll be bringing in a new, unique beverage every month.”
Future events are already in the works. Sage Skin Care will be the special guest at the September 13 event, and psychic Lisa Pini will host the Social Club on October 18. Social Club events are open to the public and are held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
