My name is Kate and I’m addicted to the shopping search engine ShopStyle. As it says on the site, “ShopStyle is the online equivalent of browsing the aisles of the world’s most fabulous store.” Users can cross-shop hundreds of thousands of apparel, home decorating and kids products from the comfort of their personal computer—what’s not to love?
Here are my favorite features:
1. The Stylenotes blog includes posts about fresh trends and photos from runway shows, among other fashion features, to provide a preview of and inspiration for the upcoming season.
2. The Stylebook allows users to save “favorites” in their own cyber closet or browse Stylebooks of other fashion-forward femmes, empowering users to be their own fashion editor!
3. The Wishlist saves items users plan to buy later (great in a pinch when you need a dress for an event this weekend! Review that wishlist!).
4. Sale Alert (the best feature of ShopStyle!) allows users to search for a specific item or category (eg. “feather earrings”) and view a variety of options at a range of price points from the most fashionable stores and best brands. Sale Alert can be selected by rolling over the item of interest and choosing “Sale Alert” in the popup window. This feature will send an email to the user when the item goes on sale!
