Miss Ohio Vintage
Miss Ohio Vintage embarked on a new adventure this month, bringing its quirky collection to Thirteenth and Washington (1300 Washington Ave.), a new creative co-op in downtown St. Louis. This is the first permanent boutique for owners Lindsay Pattan and Amanda Humbolt, who run the shop in their spare time. The new location officially opens for business on Thursday, June 14.
Pattan began Miss Ohio Vintage in early 2010 when she opened shop on Etsy.com and started throwing happy hour events, trunk shows and mini-parties around town. It wasn’t long before she and Humbolt began curating collections for Byrd Style Lounge, My Vintage Addiction and The Foundrie. They also had a part-time location of their own before settling in their new home at Thirteenth and Washington. The new boutique carries items from Blue Bird Apparel and BelleStyle Bijoux, as well as a hand-picked collection of vintage items.
“We had a summer shop last year with Apop Records that was weekends only. We wanted to collaborate with another business again this year, and the co-op felt right. So, it was just about being willing to commit to a one-year lease,” said Pattan, who also works at Bakers Footwear Group.
Thirteenth and Washington is the brainchild of editorial hair and makeup artist Kristen Linares, who is opening a salon in the space on July 1. Valerie Brown Hair will also be working at the co-op, and the group hopes to attract a photographer to fill out the space. This will provide a one-stop place for clients to come for professional hair and makeup, wardrobing and photography.
In addition, the co-op is planning a number of upcoming events. Thirteenth and Washington will host an all-day grand opening celebration starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, and the next Handmade Happy Hour will take place at Miss Ohio Vintage on Friday, July 20.
