My editor, Stephen Schenkenberg, was recently on The Morning Fix with Vic & Trish (channel 550) and the topic of watch advertisements came up … specifically, Why are watches always set to the same time in ads? I’ve always wondered about it as well and did some hunting to find out the answer. Watches are set to 10:10 or 1:50 because it frames the brand name of the watch, which is most likely right under the 12, and it also makes the image look as symmetrical as possible. Now YOU never have to wonder.
