When Julianne Hough cut off her long locks for a shorter do, well let’s just say she might have taken her career, or at least hair status to the likes of Jennifer Aniston’s “Rachel." Not quite a bob, but definitely not shoulder length, Julianne has single-handedly solved the awkward hair-length problem. Worn completely straight or with curl, this cut would look chic on any hair type and is much easier to manage than long hair (as a girl with long hair, trust me on that one). It may take some time before the look is on the St. Louis hair scene, but it’s beginning to pick up momentum on each coast. One of my favorite interpretations of the “Julianne” comes from West Coaster Emily from the fashion blog Cupcakes and Cashmere.
I can’t wait to see other celebs, bloggers and regular folks take on this budding hair trend. For me, it may take a little more convincing to let go off my tresses, but I don’t think it will take much more after spending some time gawking over pics of her new do.
