If you’ve never been to the Foundry Art Centre (520 North Main, 636-255-0270, foundryartcentre.org) in St. Charles, you’ll want to ogle the building itself, a cavernous former industrial space used to construct train cars in the ‘40s. If you’ve already been, now might be a great time to head back and check out the latest exhibition, Ka-Pow! Comic Art & Storyboarding, which runs throught September 7.
Juried by Phil McAndrew, the show is a smorgasbord of quality work. Get a load of a freaked-out Richard Nixon running down the street as ICBMs hit his car in Joel Jonientz’s “RUN,” Captain America shooting dope on the toilet in Mike Stephens’ “Spoon Fed,” an experiment gone very wrong in A.P. Westcott’s "Psychic Rabbit," clever comedy in Jonathan Schnapp’s "Astronaut Banana" and "Frame Chase,” and much more.
